The great pyramids of the Egyptian deserts still remain one of the biggest mysteries even in this day and age. How did the ancient Egyptians manage to build such picturesque tombs for their leaders and royals without using modern tools? How long did it take to build a single pyramid?
There are many theories about one of the most notable wonders of the Ancient World – the Great Pyramid of Giza. One of the theories suggests that the Egyptians used a spiral ramp in order to build the tomb from the inside out using concrete blocks. Unfortunately, this suggestion leaves many questions unanswered. However, some scientists have tried to recreate the construction process using this theory. The conclusion they have come up with is fascinating. According to the results of the study, building the Great Pyramid with 2.3 million concrete blocks weighting a total of 6.5 million tons would take about 5 years and between 1,500 and 2,000 construction workers. And it would cost around $5 billion!
