Karate is one of the most well developed martial arts originating from the Ryukyu Islands which is modern day Okinawa, Japan. The martial art was brought to Japan by the Ryukyuans in the early 20th century when it was a high period for cultural, social and economical exchange in the area.
The action movies featuring martial arts from the 1960s and 1970s have helped to immensely magnify the popularity of Karate. Soon the word “karate” became a generic word for naming all striking-based martial arts that originated from Asia. The masters of this sport are considered to be highly trained and deadly in close hand-to-hand combat.
Cristian Garces is a karate black belt master from Manizales, Colombia. He lives on top of his own martial arts school with his fellow instructors. One day in 2008 a robber decided to burglarize Cristian’s home but his plan wasn’t thought through at all.
After successfully invading the premises the burglar was able to snatch a laptop, two digital cameras and other valuables. Unfortunately for him, on his way out he was caught by some of the experienced martial artists including the master black belt Cristian. After practicing some of their favorite martial arts techniques on him they called the police.
According to Cristian, the burglar was so scared that he would never think of coming near that particular house again.
