Receiving telemarketing cold calls is quite disturbing and even nerve wracking. Usually, such calls are made by some pushy salesperson who is trying to sell you something you probably don’t need at all. Here is the example of what a British citizen did after he received one-too-many of these calls.
The pissed off 49-year-old Tim Price was so fed up by telemarketers who bothered him day and night that he decided to change his name. In a desperate attempt to make them stop calling his private phone number, he changed his name to Tim Pppppppppprice by adding extra nine Ps to his last name. He pronounces his name Tim Per-per-per-per-per-per-per-per-per-per-rice.
His quirky theory is that when the sales people see his last name on their lists they will automatically discard him as a potential customer.
It cost Tim “10P”rice a total of $153 (£93) to make his name legal and update his new personal documents. The oddly named Brit will certainly raise some eyebrows the next time he decides to travel abroad.
