Jeannie Allen from Washington was shooting a promotional video trying to help a local library when she lost her cellphone which, as it later turned out, was actually stolen. It wasn’t long before the alleged thief revealed his identity, or at least his appearance, by posting a photo on Jeannie’s Facebook page, most probably thinking he was posting on his own one. The photo of the guy read “ya know on the ferry”.
Jeannie had valuable information such as bank accounts and personal emails on her phone as she was practically living on her phone as she told local media. Fortunately, Jeannie was able to delete the sensitive date stored on the cellphone remotely. Although she doesn’t see her phone being stolen as a big deal anymore rather than just a “$300 mistake”, it was not the end of the story. Jeannie’s friends didn’t want to let the mugger get away just like that so they made fun of him by posting hilarious comments on his photo such as “needs belt worse than phone” referring to his sagging pants.
