You will be shocked by the unbelievable thing Mr. T did while he was serving the US Army!
Laurence Tureaud, more widely known as Mr. T, made a name for himself as an actor and a professional wrestler. Long before he started acting or wrestling, he was enlisted in the US Army.
Mr. T served the Military Police Corps in the 1970s and he had some quite shocking experiences from back then. In fact, one of the most shocking little known facts about the 63 year old actor is that he was on his way to chop off an entire forest when he was in the military. In the summer of 1976 Laurence committed an undisclosed offence and as a result, he had to be punished. Mr. T’s sergeant decided to punish him by ordering him to chop down trees. Unfortunately, the sergeant didn’t tell Laurence how many trees he had to chop down, so he kept going on and on.
Approximately 3 and a half hours after he had started chopping the trees at his military training camp located in Wisconsin, US, one of the majors saw what he was doing. Since Mr. T hadn’t received any orders for a particular amount of trees that needed to be chopped, he had actually chopped off more than 70 trees! The major was shocked when he realized what Mr. T had done, so he immediately ordered him to stop.
After he left the army Laurence had a large variety of jobs – from a club bouncer to a celebrity bodyguard for stars like Michael Jackson, Diana Ross and Steve McQueen. His salary varied between $3,000 and $10,000 a day. Later on he went to become a professional wrestler and an actor.
