1. Blondes take longer to get ready
A 2009 research featuring more than 3,000 participants showed that on average brunettes get ready 6 minutes faster than blondes do. Brunettes spend approximately 66 minutes on their everyday beauty routine while blondes spend 72 minutes.
2. Natural blondes have more hair than natural brunettes
Brunettes have about 100,000-120,000 hairs compared to blondes who have 120,000-140,000. One of the reasons hair evolved, evolutionally speaking, was to serve as protection for the scalp against potentially harmful UV rays. As dark-colored strands usually contain more melanin which provides a natural barrier, brunettes need less hair to protect the skin on their heads.
3. Men’s preferences in women’s hair color is a result of both their own hair color as well as their life experience
A study has shown that brunette men tend to have preference towards brunette women while blond men like equally both dark- and fair-haired women. On the other hand, dark-haired men were preferred by all women regardless of their own hair color.
Also, if you were surrounded by mostly fair-haired friends growing up and there was, for example, a dark-haired person you were not getting along with you are most likely to choose fair-haired partners later in life.
4. Blonde waitresses earn better tips
According to a survey conducted by Cornell University in 2009 including 482 waitress, blonde ones tend to earn much higher tips than their brunette colleagues regardless of their reported overall attractiveness.
5. Upon first meeting brunettes are perceived to be smarter
Research has shown that most people would consider a brunette smarter than a blonde when meeting both for the first time. The reason behind that is not perfectly clear but is supposedly based on the fact that most women who dye their hair choose the fair color, thus they are perceived as focusing too much on their looks.
6. Blondes do have more fun
It has been statistically proven that when women dye their hair lighter, they tend to go out more, have more interactions with people and feel more youthful and confident. The cause of this phenomenon remains unknown although some refer it to the fact that most Hollywood stars are blonde.
Despite the fact that all of the information has been provided by scientific research, the bottom line is that a person’s qualities such as integrity, honesty and generosity, for example, are far more important than any physical trait and, unlike the outer appearance, are something that time can’t change.
