A stray dog saved a newborn baby’s life after the baby was thrown in the garbage.
One stray dog in Thailand made headlines earlier this May when she saved the life of a newborn baby, who had been thrown in the garbage.
Noi Pongsakorn, a Thai man living in Chonburi’s Muang district, was passing near a garbage bin on his way to buy some dinner earlier this month. He spotted a couple of stray dogs fighting over something near the garbage bin. Noi thought it was just a doll, so he didn’t pay closer attention to the scene. Then all of a sudden another stray dog appeared. The man knew the dog, because he had been feeding her regularly. Nom Sod (“fresh milk” in Thai), as he calls the female dog, growled at the other dogs, then grabbed the doll and ran away with it. Noi realized that there was more than met the eye, so he followed Nom Sod and heard the doll crying like a baby. As it turned out, the thing the dog had just saved from the other two strays was indeed a newborn human baby.
Mr. Noi took the baby away from Nom Sod and called the police. Paramedics were able to help the baby, which had suffered some cuts and bites. It turned out that the female stray dog had saved the newborn from being eaten alive by the other two dogs. When Noi spoke to the media about the phenomenal case, he stated that Nom Sod had been extremely protective of the newborn baby and had been refusing to let go of it at first. As a reward, he bought the dog a collar and fed her grilled chicken meat.
As for the baby – the police is currently looking for the mother, who is probably the one, who threw it in the garbage.
