A 35 year old man is about to face charges for criminal trespassing, because he went against an Ohio zoo’s laws and petted a couple of cougars.
Zoo animals are absolutely adorable – there’s no doubt. However, the fences around their surroundings are placed for a reason – they are there both for the animal’s safety as well as the one of the people visiting the zoo. Unfortunately, this guy decided to against his better judgement and he crossed those fences just for the sake of petting two cute wild cats.
The 35 year old Josh Newell visited a zoo in Columbus, Ohio, and he just couldn’t resist the cuteness of two of the cougars he saw there. So, instead of doing what any other zoogoer would do in his place – just exclaim and bask in their glory from far, he jumped over the fences surrounding their cages. Furthermore, not only did he do that, but he also filmed himself performing his stunt over the fence and then petting the two cougars. And he uploaded the video on the web. Thanks to this last action, the zoo officials quickly got on track with his deeds and now the man is about to face criminal charges for them.
According to official reports, Newell will be appearing in court soon, will be facing chargers for criminal trespassing. The man deeply regretted his decision to go against the zoo’s policy. He stated that he just wanted to stroke the wild cats and that if he got the chance to go back in time and fix his mistake, he would do it. Newell is ready to pay a possible fine for his deeds, although he’s hoping he won’t be banned from the said zoo.
