Bonnie and Clyde were a notoriously famous couple of outlaws which committed series of robberies and other criminal acts while travelling through the Central United States during the Great Depression. The twosome became quite popular during the “public enemy era” between 1931 and 1935 thanks to the attention of the American press. Despite being known mostly for their bank robberies, the couple and their gang preferred to rob gas stations and small stores. The role of Bonnie Parker in the Barrow Gang crimes was believed to be one of a full partner, though it is controversial if that was the case.
The couple was shot by a posse of four Texas and two Louisiana officers near their hideout in Bienville Parish, Louisiana on May 23, 1934. How was the ambush conducted and why wasn’t the duo warned about it remains unknown.
