Don’t make presumptions just by reading the title. Because, ladies and gentlemen, I’m not talking about clothes.
It seems like tattoos have made their way into our present day lives. More so, it looks like the fact that you have a tattoo doesn’t make you modern and fashionable anymore. Or having multiple tattoos for that matter. It’s the essence of the tattoo itself.
Okay, let’s cut to the chase. I’ve recently come across an article about the newest trend among men in Nigeria. Apparently pink lips are seen as attractive to Nigerian women, so men looking for love are changing their lip colour in the hope of finding a partner. However, rather than use lipstick, they’re going one step further and getting permanent lip tattoos in a bid to appeal to the ladies.
I’ve got nothing against the more common tattoos, but I can’t quite understand how they seem to be cool with the fact that they’re making their naturally darker lips permanently pink. Also, as well for leaving your lips pink for the rest of your life, this process has some other nasty side effects – skin irritation, inflammation of the lips and even growing keloids!
