Daveigh Chase is an American actress who was born in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 24, 1990. Being raised in the small town of Albany, Oregon, didn’t stop Daveigh from developing her many talents. She started singing and dancing when she was just 3 years old and the age of 11 was cast in ‘Donnie Darko’ alongside Hollywood star Johny Depp. The young girl is also a fantastic singer and was personally chosen by director Steven Spielberg himself to perform “God Bless America” in his 2001 movie ‘A.I. Artificial Intelligence’.
By beating out Mike Myers, Daniel Day-Lewis, William Dafoe and Collin Farrell, Daveigh became the youngest ever actress to receive the ‘Best Villian’ award for her performance as Samara in the hit horror ‘The Ring’ at the MTV Movie Awards in 2003. An interesting fact is that the same year Daveigh portrayed the horrific Samara she also voiced Lilo, the sweet cartoon character from Disney’s animated film ‘Lilo & Stitch’. This unusual circumstance only comes to show Daveigh’s versatility and her great acting talent.
