This might come as a shock, but Talisa from Game of Thrones, or rather the actress, who portrayed her, is actually Charlie Chaplin’s granddaughter.
Talisa Stark, one of the major figures of season two of the popular fantasy TV series Game of Thrones, died after staying on board for less than a dozen episodes – just like many other characters before her. However, she didn’t leave the story before she made a big impression on the audience. And as it turns out, Talisa wasn’t the only woman of many trades – the actress, who portrayed her, also doesn’t lose ground.
Oona Chaplin, the 29 year old British actress, who played Talisa, isn’t your average actress. In fact, she’s the granddaughter of the famous British actor Charlie Chaplin! Speaking of famous relatives, Oona is also the great-granddaughter of Eugene O’Neill. Not only does famous blood run in her veins (just like her character in Game of Thrones), but she also has a degree from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Apart from that, she also has been dancing flamenco, classical ballet and salsa from a very early age.
Throughout her childhood years Oona traveled through Spain, Cuba, Switzerland, Scotland and England. She developed a passion for acting as a child and as a teenager she started taking drama classes and even starred in several plays, among which were Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Romeo and Juliet. She kicked off her film and TV career back in 2008 and has starred in several projects ever since then, most of which are British and Spanish.
Before landing the role of Talisa, Oona starred on BBC’s drama series The Hour and she also starred in BBC’s crime drama Sherlock. She also stars in the 2015 movie The Longest Ride based on the novel of the same name written by Nicholas Sparks.
