A firefighter saved a doctor’s life. It turned out that very same doctor saved the firefighter’s life as a baby 30 years ago.
When somebody literally saves you’re life, you feel obliged to return an impossible favor for the rest of your lifespan. This particular firefighter, however, managed to return the favor and save the life of a doctor, who made it possible for him to live to this day.
It all started 30 years ago, when Chris Trokey was born. Chris was a prematurely born baby and he weighed only 1.5 kilograms. The medics told his parents that he had a 50/50 chance of surviving. One of the doctors, Michael Shannon – a pediatrician, worked night and day to make sure the baby lived. He managed to save his life, oblivious to the fact that 30 years later Chris would save his life in return.
Back in 2011 Shannon was engaged in a road accident and he got trapped in a burning car. The team of firefighters, who were sent to the scene, helped Shannon out of the burning vehicle. The doctor was severely injured and he had to be hospitalized. One of the firefighters, who had helped him, decided to visit him in the hospital. It turned out that the fireman was none other, but Chris Trokey himself! During his visit at the hospital he learned that he had saved the doctor, who had saved his life as a baby 30 years ago! Dr. Shannon spoke to the media about this strange, but wonderful experience and described it as “incredible” and “amazing”.
Nowadays Chris is the proud father of a baby boy. He is still keeping in touch with Dr. Shannon, because Shannon is Chris’ son’s pediatrician.
