News reports about the polar ice vortex, which has been havocking the States, are circling the Internet for quite some time. And you’re probably wondering: How cold is in there exactly? A YouTube user provides the answer.
Tom Rauen, an Iowa citizen, decided to do a little DIY science experiment. With the help of a wet T-shirt and the extremely long patience of spending one minute out in the open, he amazed the whole world. Rauen dipped an average T-shirt into water before hanging it on a tab and exposing it to the freezing temperatures outside. In less than 60 seconds the fabric was iced to a point where the T-shirt was able to stand straight on its own without the tab – on the ground! In order to prove there were no tricks, Rauen was waving the fabric from the very beginning. The video, which shows the incredible frosting, instantly became a hit on YouTube.
According to reports, the weather in Iowa was -28C this Monday.
