Miley Cyrus is hosting this year’s VMA ceremony!
The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards will be hosted by none other, but Miley Cyrus herself. The 22 year old used Twitter to make the big announcement. She posed in a green alien costume with two boards. On one of the boards she wrote that MTV won’t let her sing, while the other one said that was why she was going to host the ceremony. The queen of provocation and twerking has shocked us in the past with her VMA appearances and we can only imagine what she’ll do this year!
Back in 2013 the former Disney star made headlines in every single news agency and became the talk of the world when she started twerking on stage next to Robin Thicke in a skimpy outfit and a gigantic foam finger. Cyrus’ actions left many people baffled and even angry because of her performance. Last year she opted for something not so provocative and touched the hearts of millions of people by not only bringing a homeless guy as her VMA date, but also by stepping back and giving him the spotlight. Jesse Helt, her date, used Miley’s acceptance speech time to talk about the homeless people living on the streets of L. A. So, it comes to no surprise that the 22 year old singer and actress is going to make a memorable night out of this year’s VMA ceremony.
At the end of July MTV released the official list of all the nominees for this year’s awards. Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and Kendrick Lamar are on top of the list with more than 3 nominations each. Queen Bey will be competing in 5 categories, Swift will be competing in 8 categories, Ed Sheeran – in 6, Lamar – in the whopping 10 categories. Ellie Goulding, Bruno Mars, The Weeknd, Nicki Minaj, Sia, Hozier, Florence + The Machine and Maroon 5 are just some of the other nominated artists.
