One of the most widespread ghost stories in the U.S. is the one of the Suscon Screamer.
If you have lived long enough in the Northern part of Pennsylvania, more specifically in the town of Pittston, you have probably heard about the Suscon Screamer.
There are many various interpretations of this ghost story that popped up throughout the American history. One of the most popular versions is the one in which the Suscon Screamer is actually the ghost of a deceased bride. She committed suicide by hanging herself from the bridge nearby because she was left at the alter. As she jumped of the bridge she screamed horrifically. The alleged witnesse, who reported supernatural experiences while driving on the Susquehanna road nearby the bridge, claim that the ghostly Screamer appeared on their rear-view mirrors. They also claim to have heard a woman’s screaming and crying as if someone was committing a murder.
No matter whether this is reality or just urban folklore keep your eyes pealed while driving on the Susquehanna road.
