Tyler Okonma, who is more famously known by his stage name Tyler, The Creator, once worked for the Starbucks chain.
Tyler, The Creator might be a worldwide famous rapper now, but not so long ago he used to have another job working at a Starbucks coffee shop as a barista.
The 24 year old rapper from recently starred on Jimmy Kimmel’s show and he talked about what he used to do before he became a known recording artist and a producer. Tyler was more than willing to share some of his previous experiences with colleagues and former bosses, especially the nasty ones. The musician, who is a self-taught pianist, used to work for major companies such as FedEx and Starbucks. During his interview with Jimmy Kimmel he recalled that his terrifying older colleagues at FedEx frightened him so much that he eventually quit after spending around a week and a half working for the courier company. Tyler also worked as a barista at a Starbucks coffee shop right up until he got fired by his boss and manager. He worked at Starbucks for nearly 2 and a half years, but wasn’t really fond of his boss Cindy. According to the rapper, the manager fired him, because she was intimidated by the fact that he was the youngest one among his colleagues, and by the fact that he had an attitude towards everything and was refusing to suck up to her like everybody else. Tyler told Kimmel that Cindy was still new at her position when she fired him, but he also shared that even though it was a great moment in his life, he still hates her even nowadays.
Tyler also stated that he was good at working as a Starbucks barista and that his job wasn’t really that difficult. Still, we could only imagine exactly how much more he’s enjoying his current one.
