Recently, the 34-year-old William Murkle and his friend the 38-year-old John Julian decided to take out their children on a drive. Murkle has a 10-year-old daughter named Megun while John has a son Isaac and a daughter Samantha both aged 7 and 8.
Both families were from Boise, Idaho so they decided to take a ride with a SUV up in the mountains. Unfortunately, when they reached a location up the road near Lucky Peak their SUV got completely stuck in the deep snow. The weather was freezing and the families had nor the proper gear nor the supplies of fresh water and food to survive. They spent the cold night snuggling in the SUV.
On the next morning the group of 5 began a 19 miles and approximately 9 hour long trek down. The two fathers Murkle and Julian were able to encourage their children to walk in the grueling weather conditions. Along the way they were able to find an abandoned vehicle with some cookies inside, which the children enjoyed a lot. According to the families the most terrifying moment of their hike was when they discovered fresh footprints of wolves.
Luckily, after 9 hours of walking the group of 5 reached a cabin in Prairie from where they called their worried families and asked for a ride back home.
