When the 14 year old Jordan Nichols wrote a 25-line poem entitled Our Generation he probably didn’t know how talented he was. He probably also didn’t know that it would became a hit on the Internet.
Jordan’s older brother, Derek, saw the poem and decided to snap a picture of it and upload it on Twitter. The incredible thing about the boy’s poem is the fact that it can be read backwards line by line and the meaning would become completely different. The poem’s meaning would actually become just the opposite. Soon after Derek uploaded his brother’s poem on the web, it started to swarm around Twitter. Nowadays it has more than 120,000 retweets and the numbers are continuously growing.
Derek followed his brother’s example and tried to do a poem, which could be read backwards. He succeeded, although his writings revolved around his love for chicken nuggets, while Jordan’s poem is similar to Jonathan Reed’s Lost Generation.
