We’ve all heard of lots of prank calls that’ve been made to 911 and also some where the caller seems to think it’s a legitimate reason to call, yet it’s just simply ridiculous. Well, here’s another of those strange calls that the caller, for some reason thinks is a good use of police time, rather than, I don’t know, the police responding to proper calls.
This homeowner called up 911 after his cat would not let him back into his house. Apparently, his cat was being extremely aggressive and was attacking him and his wife, and so they both left the house to protect themselves. I’m not sure whether he requested an ambulance, but by the sounds of it, he needed one as he was bit in the leg by his cat as well…
Usually, this is when you hear about how the man got reminded of the rules of calling 911, and the fines that you can incur by calling for false reports, but no. Instead, a police unit was actually sent out to his address who then helped him get back into his home.
It seems that this domestic has been sorted though, and it’s been said that since this incident, the man and his cat are getting along with each other, and his cat has also had a kitten since.
This is certainly one of the craziest 911 stories I’ve ever heard, and especially shocking since a unit was really sent round to his house… I just sincerely hope that there was no one else who had a slower response time because of this unit being diverted, and that there were no serious consequences because of it.
