A 73 year old Indian librarian has spent his whole life donating all of his salary to the poor people in his village.

Meet Palam Kalyanasundaram, an Indian librarian, who has got to be one of the most selfless people on the planet. Palam was born 73 years ago in a small village in Tamil Nadu, India. He lost his father when he was a child and his mom was the one, who inspired him to help those, who are poorer than him. At an early age he would pay the school fees for the kids in his village. When he became old enough to work, he started donating everything he had to the poor. He got a Master’s Degree in literature and history, as well as a gold medal in library science. After he graduated he started working as a librarian at the Kumarkupara Arts College and spent the upcoming 35 years of his life donating all of his monthly salaries to the poor. He helped not only the less fortunate people in his village, but he also donated money to various charity organizations and orphanages. The 73 year old Palam has been so selfless throughout his whole life that he never even married. He wanted to keep donating everything he earned!
Even nowadays Palam is still helping out the poor. He claims that there is no better feeling in the world that being able to put the money you earn by yourself to good use by helping somebody less fortunate than you, who is in greater need of that money.
