Facebook can ruin your personal life, introduce grooms to their future brides and help parents stalk their teenage kids. And by the looks of it, the social networking site is also fighting crime in Florida.
According to reports, Leandre and Jordan Green and Carlos Rivera, a criminal trio from Florida, came up with an unbelievable idea for an Internet start-up business. They broke into a house in Florida and took some low quality photographs of the furnishing, then displayed the pictures on Facebook, offering the items for sale. In other words, they assured themselves they would not get stuck with a useless couch or washing machine if no potential buyers showed any interest. The trio got lucky, or more likely unlucky, when a potential buyer offered $70 for a fridge. The criminals had to break in the house again in order to steal the fridge. However, a neighbour reported them to the police and authorities arrived at the crime scene shortly after, arresting the creative thieves.
So much for starting their own business!
