Giving birth to a child is one of mother Nature’s greatest phenomenons. All parents that await the birth of their offspring are eagerly contemplating about its future based on their personal hopes and dreams. However awaiting the birth of a newborn can be one of the most stressful times for all parents.
According to the gathered knowledge on human pregnancy, which is also the most studied among mammalian pregnancies, a regular childbirth should happen in no more than 38 to 40 weeks or 280 days after the initial conception.
The world record for the longest human pregnancy recorded in history comes from the LA Methodist hospital where Dr. Daniel Beltz reported a case in which Mrs. Beulah Hunter, 25 gave birth to a child after the incredible 375 days. The baby was born alive and well which makes the case worthy of recognition.
Apparently, the development of the fetus of Mrs. Hunter’s baby seized after the first trimester. It paused for over 3 months with no obvious reasons when it suddenly resumed again.
Finally, Mrs. Beulah Hunter gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Penny Diana Hunter.
