If you enjoy taking long relaxing walks or jogging in the park nearby your house, then you have probably also experienced carefully walking around what could be described as a mine field of dog excrements. Originally, stepping on dog’s feces by accident could be perceived as a sign for good luck but for most people it’s one of the most disgusting and awful stinking experiences ever.
Dog owners not used to picking up the droppings of their pets is a worldwide issue that has no obvious solution up to date. This was not until a Mexican Internet portal has come up with an ingenious new idea that just might be able to change the regular pet owners behaviour and motivate them to collect their pets “land mines”.
The project is actually a really smart combination of three things a regular modern day human likes would enjoy : walking, pets and the Internet. The Mexican web portal Terra joined forces with the DDB ad agency to design a project that will actually work and educate people to clean up after their pets.
They have created a really smart machine that gives free Wi-Fi Internet connection in exchange for a bag full of dog excrements. You can drop the bag in a special box, then the machine weighs it and afterwards gives you an appropriate amount of free Wi-Fi minutes based on the bags weight. Owners who own larger dogs would obviously have more of an advantage when using this crafty invention.
Last but not least, the machine can detect what garbage is being put into it. It cannot be scammed by placing just rocks in it, for example. The general idea is that people insert whatever garbage they could collect thus enjoying cleaner and safer outdoor areas.
