His real name is Father Cesare Bonizzi, an Italian man born in 1946. He became a priest in 1983. He was interested in music as a tool for spreading the words of God and was a part of some rock projects in the 80s. But once, he went to Metallica concert and liked it so much that he decided to start a heavy metal band. Father Bonizzi later said that when he heard Metallica live, he liked the genre a lot for it’s fast and energetic style. And since that moment, it has become his favourite musical genre.
Father Metal always performed in clerical clothing and never used the metal “sign on horn”, but a different hand-sign used for “I love you” in the American Sign Language. He released one album named “Misteri” in 2008 and retired as a heavy metal singer in 2009.
