There is an empty ghost town located in New Mexico, US, designed for tech experiments, which will be carried out in a simulated “real” environment without the chance of getting somebody hurt.
Have you ever wondered about the great lengths of damage a series of tech experiments might do in a rural area with the modern technology we have nowadays? Well, scientists and researchers definitely have. In fact, they have even decided that it would be best to simulate a rural area and to carry out tech experiments there rather than perform them in an actual city or village near living human beings.
According to official reports, there is a ghost town being constructed in New Mexico, US, right now. It’s located somewhere in a completely deserted valley where there are no people, who can possibly get hurt. The ghost town’s purpose is to simulate an actual town only without the “collateral damage” factor. The streets will be filled with man-less drones, vehicles and machines, which will be tested on regular basis for their performance and safety. The area will look like any other modern city only without any actual people. Or in other words, human beings will be swapped for drones and other tech toys, which are still yet to be tested out.
Some critics believe that the ghost town will be a greater challenge for the people standing behind it than they can imagine. Others, however, believe that the idea is simply genius. One of the people involved in the futuristic project described the ghost town as the “perfect laboratory”, because it will provide the necessary atmosphere, space and safety to carry out tech experiments without the terrifying possibility of getting people fatally injured during the tech experiments.
Even though it sounds kind of scary, wouldn’t this ghost town be cool?
