Since 2012, beekeepers from Ribeauville, France have been reporting their bees are making blue ang green honey. The beekepers investigated and found out that this is happening because their bees use waste materials from a nearby M&Ms factory. They immediately contacted the authorities and the factory and put a procedure to stop the process.
It turned out that the winter of 2011-2012 was very harsh and it actually made bees search for alternate sources of sugar. Bees are smart and know how to find the best sources of sugar, if there are no other available. So, they used the M&Ms factory waste materials and produced this strange honey.
