Sellofies is the new term for the latest craze among Internet users these days.
Ever since Ellen DeGeneres and her outstanding selfie from the Oscars outshone every other selfie on the web, people have been trying to come up with something original of their own. And just like every other craze posted on the web, once a trend begins a huge number of people copy it. Currently, people all around the world are finding strange joy in wrapping their faces with Sellotape and then snapping self-portraits of themselves before uploading it to social networking websites. Sure, wrapping your head with toilet paper or duct tape might be fun if you’re 11 years old, but it turns out even the grownups are doing it.
The origin of the sellofies isn’t quite clear – some suggest they came from a Jim Carrey movie or from an aspiring photographer from New Mexico named Wes Naman.
