Have you ever wondered what’s the real cost of some products? Probably not. Each time we buy a super expensive new tech toy, we don’t even stop for a minute in order to think about its actual manufacturing cost and the difference between that cost and the numbers on the price tag in the store.
The most expensive particle in iPhone 5S’ content is its display. The Retina display is estimated as being worth $28 – and it’s the most expensive part! The total sum of all the parts is around $190. So why pay up to $900 for the latest iPhone version? Because Apple is paying manufacturing fees of only $10? Or because it’s the newest trend? No. You’ll go out and buy it because society tells you to do so. And if you’re smart enough, you’ll hold on to your old smartphone and wait for a few months before giving your money away for something, which clearly doesn’t cost that much.
