Apart from the 7 books about the young British wizard, J. K. Rowling also wrote and published two additional books back in 2001 – Quidditch Through the Ages; and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Recently it became made known that Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will be turned into a trilogy on the big screen.
The book is mostly famous for serving as a text book for Hogwarts’ students. It follows the adventures of a famous Magizoologist, named Newton “Newt” Scamander. The trilogy’s plot will probably be set in New York, instead of the UK, and it will follow Scamander’s adventures set in a world 70 years before Harry Potter first got a glimpse of his textbook. The release date for the first movie is set for the 18th of November 2016. The cast is yet to be announced, but the script is reportedly already finished. There’s no word on the matter of a possible Harry Potter appearance in the movies.
According to official reports, Rowling is currently working on the script for the second movie of the trilogy.
