Nobody can resist the sweet treats produced by the Swiss chocolate giant Lindt.
Back in August this year a total of 260 tons of Lindor chocolate went missing. The popular truffle balls and bars were reported as stolen in Milan and until recently there was no solid evidence of what had happened to them. Nearly 20 tons of Lindor goods have now been found in a warehouse located near Naples, Italy, while another 50 tons of the missing chocolate also came up nearby. The theft of the luxurious chocolate was reported as the largest chocolate theft in history. The 50 tons, which were discovered recently, are allegedly worth 1.5 EUR (more than $1.88 million in USD). According to official reports, the total amount of the stolen chocolate cost Lindt & Sprüngli 8 million EUR!
Earlier this year two people working for delivery companies were arrested in connection to the outrageous theft.
