Modern diapers have been useful to mothers from the distant 19th century. But nowadays the diaper isn’t used only for newborn babies and toddlers, but also for elder and sick people who have certain disabilities.
A recent report shows that more than 20% of Japan’s population is using adult diapers. They are being used in hospitals, nursing homes and retirement homes. Earlier this year a Nikkei newspaper’s report showed that diaper companies in Japan are expanding their facilities in order to expand the manufacturing. Allegedly the percentage of the adult diapers’ market is increasing rapidly each year. Japan’s population is aging extremely fast and it looks like the diaper business is producing lucrative incomes. Reportedly, Japan has the biggest percentage in the world of people who are over 65 years old. Each year the adult diaper market shows 6 to 10% of growth.
The numbers are so ground-breaking that it’s believed the adult diapers market is going to outsell the baby diapers one.
