Kenny Baker is the actor who was inside the costume of the R2-D2 droid in all six ‘Star Wars’ movies. During filming Kenny Baker had to work with Anthony Daniels who was the actor inside the other droid C-3PO. However, Baker’s feelings about his colleague weren’t very warm and positive. In 2005 Baker even described Daniels as “the rudest man he had ever met in his life”.
A few years later Kenny explained that his fellow droid had been a really awkward person who had made Baker feel small. In addition, according to Baker his colleague was also impolite to his fans. He stated that if Daniels had been more communicative and had socialized better, he would have had numerous public appearances.
An interesting fact about Baker and his droid R2-D2 is that they have left a mark on the cement in front of the Hollywood Chinese Theater. In fact, Baker was inside the droid and put R2-D2’s three legs in the damp pavement.
