Taylor Swift, the current idol of countless of social media addicted teenagers from all across the globe, actually hates the social media!
Social networking websites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr have completely taken over our lives. We care more about our social status and pay more attention to the celebrities’ updates rather than our actual real lives. And by the looks of it all, Taylor Swift completely agrees with this.
Just like tons of other young celebs, Taylor Swift often posts updates on her social media accounts. She talks about her career, her friends, her family relatives and her life in general. However, she recently decided to speak up against the social networking websites in general. BBC reported that the 25 year old Swift has used her fame and worldwide acclamation as tools to make a shout-out to all of her fans out there. Swift stated that the number of likes on one’s picture or the popularity one has on Facebook and Twitter shouldn’t define who they are as a person. Furthermore, she also said that it’s not a healthy way to live and that people, especially young teenagers, shouldn’t base their “day, happiness and sanity” on how popular they are on the social media. The Bad Blood hit maker also stated that she doesn’t believe people should value themselves based on the number of likes they receive from friends and followers.
The 25 year old Taylor has been dubbed as one of the most influential people of our time by Forbes and there’s a big reason why – whatever she does, whatever she says and whatever she posts online, it immediately becomes a humongous hit among millions of people from all around the world. Fortunately for all her teenage fans out there, Swift can see that family and real life in general are more important than your status and popularity on the social media.
