A number of studies on the subject have all revealed the same results : redheads perceive pain in a different way because of their distinct constitution. Researchers have also found that redheads are more sensitive to cold, have a higher rate of toothaches and are generally more reluctant to have dentал procedures performed on them and are more prone to developing endometriosis and sclerosis than other people. The greater risk of some of the illnesses is explained with the fact that redheads usually lack vitamin D as most of them don’t favor sun exposure or because their bodies don’t absorb the vitamin as efficiently as everybody else’s does.
Scientists assume that the cause of all these differences between redheads and the rest of the people is the existence of a ‘redhead’ gene which brings a whole bunch of physiological and genetic distinctions. A curious detail is the fact that despite not being red-haired yourself, you may carry the ‘redhead’ gene thus experience some of the things gingers do.
