The Mongol Empire was the greatest empire ever been created in human history. It existed during the 13th and 14th century and had unique social system. It split because of inner fights for political power between the grandchildren of Genghis Khan.
One of the most interesting things about the inhabitants of this empire was that they never washed their clothes or took a bath! They were afraid that by washing themselves they would anger the dragons that controlled the water cycle. So, they never changed their clothes until they fell apart and fell off their owners. On some special occasions, as holidays, they wore robes. The interesting thing was that the clothes’ smell was a special and important aspect of it’s owner. For example, if a Great Khan were to give his clothes to someone (and respectively his smell), this was considered a great honour.
