When you Google the name Leonardo, the first automatic suggestions are referring to Da Vinci and DiCaprio. You’re familiar with both of them, but did you know that their shared name isn’t just coincidence?
Leonardo DiCaprio was born in Los Angeles in late 1974 and is an only child. When DiCaprio was still in his mother’s womb, his parents visited an Italian art gallery in Florence. His mother was looking at a portrait the famous Leonardo Da Vinci when she felt the very first kick of her baby. According to DiCaprio himself, his father took the occurrence as some sort of cosmic sign. It wasn’t long before the baby was born and Irmelin and George DiCaprio decided to name their son after the great Da Vinci, probably not knowing that the baby would become as famous as Da Vinci himself.
Another interesting fact about the movie star is that before he became a heart-throb for millions of fans after Titanic came out in 1997, he actually starred next to Robert De Niro in This Boy’s Life in 1993.
