All Lady Gaga fans probably know that her birth name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. However, the famous singer was not the one to think of her stage name. The person responsible for the pseudonym Lady Gaga became world known with was actually her music producer Rob Fusari who was also the singer’s boyfriend at the time.
Fusari would call her Gaga every time she came into the studio after the Queen song ‘Radio Gaga’. The singer admits that she was really tired of performing under her real name and wanted to reinvent herself. She said Lady Gaga suited her perfectly as it combined her past and her current way of life because ‘Gaga’ sounded crazy and ‘lady’ was a reference to her attending a private school. In 2010 Fusari filed a law suit against Gaga claiming that she owned him $35 million for discovering her and coming up with her stage name. The music producer stated that he would call her ‘Radio Gaga’ because her voice sounded a lot like late Queen singer Freddy Mercury. The law suit was later dropped.
