Auto-tune has been around for quite some time. It was a regular strategy for producers from the early Britney Spears and N’SYNC era, so it’s not really surprising that many recording artists can’t sing in real life.
Take Justin Bieber, for example. Before becoming Canada’s brattiest teen, he started out as a typical boy-band-ish teen heartthrob, who was adored for his looks and “talent” by legions of girls from all around the world. However, during his Believe tour back in 2013, Bieber proved that he wasn’t so different from all the other pop sensations lip syncing out there. The Canadian “singer” dropped his microphone in the middle of a song while performing in Vienna and continued dancing and lip syncing for 10 seconds, before one of the bodyguards guarding the stage in the press zone handed the mic back.
Not only did the pre-recorded tape continue playing, but there was absolutely no change in the sound during those 10 embarrassing seconds!
