Warner Bros has teamed up with best-selling author JK Rowling to create new film series based on Harry Potter’s Hogwarts textbook ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them’. Rowling will make her debut as a screenwriter in this new world of witches and wizards but the story is neither a sequel nor a prequel to the ‘Harry Potter’ series as the author wanted to point out.
The story will take place in New York about 70 years before Harry’s time. However, devoted Harry Potter fans will recognize all the laws and customs typical of the secret magical society in the world of the little wizard. Newt Scamander, the fictional author of the textbook ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them’ would be the protagonist in the new series. Being very protective of her characters and her fictional universe, Rowling wasn’t feeling to trust anybody else and that’s how she eventually ended being the screenwriter for the new series.
