About a month ago it was revealed that the author of ‘The Cuckoo’s Calling’ was none other than J.K. Rowling herself, the famous “mother” of Harry Potter. The world’s richest book writer wanted to protect her identity by submitting the adult crime novel under a false name.
Rowling claims she wished to enjoy readers’ feedback without the high expectations her name on the cover usually brings. Ironically, before the pseudonym secret was revealed, the book had sold only 1,500 copies since its release in April. After it came out that the book was actually one of Rowling’s works, the title has landed on top of the Amazon bestseller list, the digital version also hitting N.1 on the iBooks chart.
