When you buy apples from your supermarket you probably peel off the fruit sticker and try to wash the glue from the fruit as thoroughly as you can. But it’s a little known fact that the glue isn’t as harmful as you think.
It’s actually more than just unharmful – it’s entirely edible! How can this be? The stickers are made from an edible paper produced by food grade materials. The glue used on the stickers is also edible, at least according to the Food and Drug Administration. In case you were to eat a sticker, while it would be a strange thing to do, the FDA assures us that there’s no need for any panic – it’s perfectly safe. However, if you’re still obsessed with removing that sticker and you’re finding it hard, there’s a smart solution – use scotch tape to do it.
If you’re still against food stickers, you can always find the nearest farmer’s market and buy your fruit there.
