Recently in the capital city of South Korea, Seoul, the government officials introduced to the public a new one-of-a-kind addition to its already existing and effective police force.
Around 100 new male and female recruits dressed in very sharp looking uniforms created by Psy’s personal costume designer joined the police force in a unique fashion. They not only got their clothes from Psy but were introduced to the public with a special “Gangnam Style” choreography in which everyone did the famous horse-riding routine.
The idea behind the special police force is to minimize the negative experience of the millions of foreign tourists that visit the capital city of South Korea every year. The officers were handpicked among thousands of applicants for their special linguistic abilities. Most of the newly recruited patrolling police officers speak a multitude of languages and their primary job will be to assist tourists if they get ripped off by a greedy cab driver, for example.
Each officer will wear a custom made badge that corresponds to the foreign language they command as well as a dark-blue uniform created by Psy’s costume designer.
The incredible tourist interest towards South Korea was sparked mainly due to Psy’s ultra popular hit song ‘Gangnam Style’ that currently has over 1.8 billion views and almost 5 million comments on YouTube.
