We live in the digital age of the 21st century. Today social media is dictating the newest fashion trends, especially when it comes down to hairstyling. But all of this is banned in the communist state of North Korea. Men and women from all ages living in this secular country have only a limited number of hairstyles that they can choose from.
The number and fashion of the hairstyles is approved by the communist party viciously ruled by the dictator Kim Jong Un. While women are only allowed to pick one out of 14 hairstyles men are more privileged to chose one out of 28. Women are also forced to keep their hair short and are forbidden from wearing curlier locks. Men are absolutely forbidden from growing hair longer than 2 inches while students in universities are forced to have the same haircut as Kim Jong Un. Not abiding by these rules may earn you a rough prison sentence.
