Head lice are one of the most notorious and awful bloodsucking pests known to humankind. And while they were easily spreading among young children several years ago, nowadays they are taking a hike from one teenager to another since it’s become cool and fashionable to take selfies with as much people as you can at once.
To sum it up, by putting your head next to the heads of ten other people in order to take a group selfie for your Facebook, Instagram or other social media website, you’re practically exposing your hair to head lice. By taking group selfies you’re making it extremely easy for these bloodsucking creatures to ruin your hair and even to infect many of your friends. Mary McQuillan, a Californian head lice expert, told the media she’s been observing a huge infestation of head lice among teenagers through the past year. According to McQuillan, the reason for the massive increase in infected teens is the constant taking of group selfies.
So next time you decide to include your gang in your selfie, make sure they aren’t already infected.
