Smartphones revolutionized the mobile consumer electronics first. Then the tablets came to dazzle us. But pretty soon Google is about to take its Android operating system and place it into a much bigger package that satisfies our everyday needs: the car. Recently, the Wall Street Journal released information that the giant tech company Google is planning to strike a deal with Audi, the German car manufacturing giant, in order to develop new cutting edge software for brand new and innovative cars.
The two companies, regardless of how different they are, have worked together before. They laid the foundations of their future partnership by inserting Google Maps in Audi’s cars. The next phase which is a natural evolution of this unique partnership will be to modernize the on-board computers of vehicles even more. The modern day vehicles will inevitably need the Android operating system that is going to meet the rising demand for apps.
Officially, the partnership will be announced at the Consumer Electronics Show held from January 7 through January 10, 2014.
