Eminem has signed on the crew of a new TV drama series and will reportedly take part in the music writing process.
According to official reports, the 42 year old rapper, who was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, US, is coming aboard the crew of a new TV drama series, but he won’t be starring in it as an actor.
The reports state that Eminem has already set his eye on singing up for the production of the unnamed series, which will be based on Narc – Joe Carnahan’s mystery thriller from 2002. The new series will be based in Detroit and will probably have themes similar to the ones we saw in Narc – drugs, murder and corruption spreading around the city of Detroit. There’s little information known about this new project, but two things are sure – Paramount Pictures will be producing it and Eminem wants to take part in it.
The rapper is allegedly going to join the crew as a music supervisor and an executive producer. In other words, it means that Eminem will be writing new music for the TV series.
It wasn’t long ago that it became clear that Eminem’s new album will feature songs from the soundtrack of the upcoming movie Southpaw. The rapper recorded several songs for the project and one of them is also featured in the movie’s trailer. The single, which is called Phenomenal, will be released by Interscope and Shady – Eminem’s labels – alongside the rest of the songs (from other recording artists), which will be featured in the movie. The album, which is entitled Music From And Inspired By The Motion Picture Southpaw, will hit the market later this July alongside the actual movie. You can read the whole story here.
