Hillary Clinton has visited more than 100 countries while she was in the role of U.S. Secretary Of State but none of her country visits were as dramatic as the one in Egypt. She was visiting Egypt back in July 15th 2012 while the country was in a great political crisis. After she delivered a public speech in Egypt’s capital Cairo about democracy and equal rights for all people she was escorted by security to her armored vehicle. In the meantime a huge crowd of protesters had quickly gathered.
The crowd began bombarding the American and Egyptian delegation with tomatoes, shoes and water bottles. One of the Egyptian officials was struck in the face by a tomato. Mrs. Clinton was unharmed. The most bizarre part of this scary situation was that the crowd of unknown protesters was screaming “Monica, Monica” and “Leave, Clinton”. The protesters made a weird reference to the affair of the former President Bill Clinton.
