Most of us love the fizzy soda drinks and sometimes we indulge ourselves with them more than once a day. However, serving them to our children might be a bad choice, not only because too much sugar is bad for the kids’ health.
Soda drinks make children violent and aggressive. It might come as a shock, but it’s a fact. Earlier this year the Columbia University conducted a curious study on 3,000 mother-child pairs on the subject. The results came as a surprise. According to the study, the mothers reported that with the increase of the daily soda drinks, there was also an increase with behavior problems.
The mothers were asked to report the amount of daily soda servings per child. Overall, the study showed that 5 year old children who were given four or more soda drinks a day were 100% more aggressive than their peers. They’ve been starting verbal and physical fights with other children, destroying other people’s belongings, they were having trouble with paying attention to instructions and were also becoming more withdrawn socially compared to other kids their age.
It looks like obesity isn’t the only problem.
