The 31 year old actor is going on an extreme crash-diet of only 500 calories per day!
We are used to seeing the handsome Australian actor Chris Hemsworth portraying a number of manly roles in movies like Thor and Snow White and The Huntsman, in which he’s portraying buff and masculine characters. However, this time Chris isn’t here to shock us with his abs, but rather with his crash-diet, which consist of taking in only 500 calories a day!
Hemsworth is going to star in In The Heart Of The Sea – a movie about a real life case of a ship attacked by a whale back in the distant 1820. The story, which took place in real life, inspired Herman Melville to write his bestseller Moby Dick. However, the project won’t have anything in common with the story in Moby Dick – it will focus on the shipwreck that ruins the lives of several men at sea. Hemsworth’s character Owen Chase will be one of them. The director, Ron Howard, wanted to focus on the disaster, so he ordered Chris and his co-actors to lose tons of weight for the movie. Thus, Chris is currently undergoing the crash-diet. Instead of working out and building more muscles, he is now losing them. When the Australian actor was asked about how it feels like to eat around 500 calories a day only, he shared that the only thing he can think about right now is food!
Apart from this honest statement, Hemsworth also said that he’s not the only one going on this extreme diet. Cillian Murphy, Paul Anderson and Ben Whishaw, all of which will be starring in the movie alongside him, are also subjected to the crash-diet. In The Heart Of The Sea is set to hit theaters in December 2015.
